Abbey Road

Due to the existing parapet being too low for legal requirements and corrosion of the steel work, WBG Installations ltd were brought in to replace the parapet.

Using a CP Rivet Buster, we removed existing rivets to allow us to dismantle all existing parapet plates.

Once all plates were removed, using a nine inch grinder the existing upright posts were cut to engineers datum lines.

New holes were drilled in the existing stubs to accommodate the new splice plates that take the new posts that were installed.

New plates were then installed between the new posts, bolted and tightened.

This process was repeated throughout on both sides of the bridge.
